India sealed a 4-3 victory against Malaysia to clinch their record-fourth Asian Champions Trophy, at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.
Jugraj Singh’s first-quarter goal gave India the lead, but Kamal Abu Arzai’s goal tied the score at one.
Razie Rahim later scored on a penalty corner to give Malaysia a 2-1 lead in the second quarter. Then, Aminudin Muhamad scored for the visitors with a penalty corner late in the second quarter to make the score 3-1.
Harmanpreet Singh scored on a penalty strokee to make it 2-3 in the third quarter, and Gurjant subsequently scored to tie the score. Akashdeep scored a late winner stroke with the score tied at 3-3 to enable India win their record-tying fourth ACT championship.
