The 2024 Diamond League will kick off its 15-stop schedule in April with two meets in China, in Xiamen and Shanghai, while the two-day season finale will be held in Brussels in September, organisers announced on Monday.
There were supposed to be 15 meets in the Diamond League last year, but the Shanghai trip was cut short because to COVID-19 regulations that delayed the venue’s refurbishment. The inaugural event will take place in Xiamen on April 20, one week before Shanghai makes its return to the schedule for the first time since 2019.
Before the US stop, the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, returns to its customary late May place after hosting the 2023 finals, meetings in Doha and Rabat are planned for the following month.
