Last week, the Kerala Blasters’ under-17 Kerala Youth League campaign ended in goalless draws against FC Kerala and MSP Football Academy, respectively. This was a poor start for the team. And then there was the grand return.
The Blasters cruised through the next three games, winning 3-0 against Gokulam Kerala and 2-1 against G.V. Raja Sports School to secure the title and top spot in the six-team league event with 11 points. The Blasters’ triumph made them eligible for the Youth League of the national organisation AIFF, which will take place later.
Late in the first half, S. Sujin, a forward for the Blasters who had scored goals in the previous two games, opened the score. Siddharth scored the other goal early in the second half. MSP came in first place with 10 points, while G.V. Raja came in second place with 8 points.
