In-form Humbert defeats Bublik to win Dubai title

Fifth seed Ugo Humbert preserved his spotless record in finals, defeating Alexander Bublik 6-4, 6-3 to win the Dubai ATP title.

The Frenchman joined Ernests Gulbis and Martin Klizan as the only men in the Open Era to win their first six tour-level finals, and his triumph over Bublik earned him his second title of the season. When the revised rankings are announced, the 25-year-old will enter the top-15 at number 14. Humbert had a difficult journey to the title in Dubai.

He recovered from a set down in his opener against his compatriot Gael Monfils before knocking out Andy Murray, saving three match points against Hubert Hurkacz, and defeating champion and top seed Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the last four.
