France defeats Scotland in Women’s Six Nations

France improved to two wins out of two in the Women’s Six Nations with a hard-fought 15-5 victory over Scotland.

Scotland, coming off a tight first-round defeat to Wales, led 5-3 after hooker Ellis Martin scored a try six minutes before halftime at Edinburgh’s Hive field, after France broke the deadlock with a Lina Queyroi penalty. The Scots put in an outstanding performance considering they were hammered 55-0 by France in last season’s Women’s Six Nations. However, the home team’s flow was disturbed when Molly Wright, who came on to replace Martin, was injured in a tackle seconds after entering the pitch.
