At the World Athletics Relays, both the Indian men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams secured spots in the Paris Olympics by coming second in their respective second-round heats.
In the women’s event, Rupal Chaudhary, M R Poovamma, Jyothika Sri Dandi, and Subha Venkatesan finished second in their heat with a time of 3 minutes and 29.35 seconds, just behind Jamaica.
Following suit, the men’s team, comprising Amoj Jacob, Arokia Rajiv, Muhammad Anas Yahiya, and Muhammad Ajmal, also clinched second place in their heat, clocking a time of 3 minutes and 3.23 seconds, trailing behind the USA.
This achievement means both teams have secured spots in the Olympics, which are set to take place from July 26 to August 11.
