Rudy Gobert named 2024 Defensive Player of the Year

Rudy Gobert from the Minnesota Timberwolves made history by winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award four times, tying the record set by Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace. Gobert, a key player for the T-Wolves, helped his team become the top defensive squad in the league this season. Despite a big playoff win for his team, Gobert chose to spend time with his fiancée and newborn baby instead of watching the game. He was chosen for the award by a panel of media members, receiving the most first-place votes. Victor Wembanyama, a rising star from the San Antonio Spurs, came in second place, and Bam Adebayo from the Miami Heat came in third.
