Deeksha breaks 1500m National Record in Los Angeles

Annu Rani, who won the Asian Games, started her competition in Germany in sixth place, throwing the javelin 60.68 meters. But she ended up setting a new record for India with her last throw of 63.82 meters. The winner was Adriana Vilagos from Serbia, who threw 63.58 meters.

 

In Los Angeles, at the Sound Running Track Fest, K.M. Deeksha broke the national record for the 1500-meter race, which was held by Harmilan Bains for three years. Deeksha finished third in the race and ran it in 4:04.78 seconds, beating her own best time by more than a second. Harmilan, the previous record holder, ran in 4:05.39 seconds. Kristlin Gear from the US won the 3000m steeplechase with her best time of 4:03.65 seconds.
