Satwik-Chirag reclaim World No. 1 ranking after Thailand open

After winning the Thailand Open, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty regained the top position in the men’s doubles world rankings. They had dropped to No. 3 after losing in the second round of the All England Championships and missing the Asia Championships due to Satwik’s injury.

At the Thailand Open, they made a strong comeback by defeating China’s Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi in straight games, winning their second title of the year. This victory moved them up to 99670 points in the BWF rankings, putting them back at the top after five weeks.

In the women’s singles rankings, PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympian, fell to No. 15, while HS Prannoy remained at No. 9, being the only Indian player in the top ten.
