Lilia Vu’s helps USA gets first win since 2017

At the 18th hole at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Lilia Vu made a birdie putt two feet from the cup to give herself the lead. The United States team defeated Team Europe to win the Solheim Cup for the first time since 2017.

With four matches remaining, the United States led Europe 14–11, while Albane Valenzuela of Switzerland was leading her match against Vu 1 up going into the last hole.

To win her match, Valenzuela had a lengthy birdie putt, but she missed it by approximately a foot. The U.S. was then assured of the 14 1/2 points required to break a three-event losing streak to Europe when Vu made her birdie to halve the match.
