Ruoning Yin won the Maybank Championship by one stroke in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after birdieing the 18th hole to achieve a final-round score of 65.
After four rounds, her 23-under 265 shattered the event score record, giving Yin her third 2024 triumph and second place finish in the three starts.
Two weeks ago, she also won the Buick LPGA Shanghai in her home country of China.
Haeran Ryu of South Korea, Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand, and Yin started the day tied at 16-under, and all three quickly increased the pressure with birdies on the opening hole. As the three of them advanced to the 18th hole, Ryu’s bogey at 17 put him two strokes behind Yin at 20-under.
Thitikul birdied the par-5 hole to go to 22-under, putting the pressure on Yin to sink her putt to win and avoid a playoff.
