Ad-hoc committee for the Wrestling Federation of India established

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) office will be governed by a two-person ad hoc committee, the Indian Olympic Association stated on Thursday.

Bhupender Singh Bajwa, a member of the IOA executive council, and Suma Shirur, an IOA athlete of exceptional merit, will make up the committee. Prior to the Ministry of Youth Affairs invalidating it and asking the IOA to set up an ad hoc committee, the election for WFI president was supposed to take place on May 7.

Indian wrestlers are currently demonstrating in New Delhi against the late Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the former president of the WFI. The wrestler will make a request for the Supreme Court of India to file a FIR against Singh for allegedly harassing women wrestler.
