Aishwary Tomar wins the men’s 50m rifle 3P national trials, breaking the world mark

Aishwary Tomar, an Olympian shooter, broke the world record after winning the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) national trials on Monday.

Tomar, 23, was a member of the Indian team that won gold in the 50m rifle three positions at the 2023 World Championships, and he dominated the final with a score of 466.4.
The current world record for this event is 466.1.

Tomar was represented Madhya Pradesh at the national trials.
Navyman Niraj Kumar finished second, with Goldie Gurjar coming in third for his second consecutive podium result in the trials.

R Narmada Nithin from Tamil Nadu won the 10m air rifle trials for women. Narmada shot 251.8 to beat off another local favourite, Ashi Chouksey, who finished second for the second day running. Rajasthan’s Nisha Kanwar was third.
