Annu Rani of India won the women’s javelin throw event on Tuesday in Hangzhou, earning her second medal from the Asian Games and her first gold. In her fourth attempt, Annu’s javelin throw of 62.92 metres allowed her to take the lead. Dilhani Lekamge of Sri Lanka won silver with a best throw of 61.57 metres, and Lyu Huihui of China won bronze with a throw of 61.29 metres.This is Annu’s second medal from the Asian Games. The 31-year-old, who had a best throw of 59.53 metres, had won bronze in Incheon in 2014. At the 2018 Asian Games, Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian to win gold in the men’s javelin competition, and she ultimately placed sixth.
