At the Asian Games currently taking place in Hangzhou, China, the Indian 25m rapid fire pistol squad took home the bronze medal on Monday.
The combined qualifying marks of Vijayveer Sidhu, Anish Bhanwala, and Adarsh Singh were 1718. Indonesia had the same score as India, but due to India’s higher percentage of inner-10s, Indonesia’s fate was already decided. India came in first with 45 “x,” while Indonesia came in fourth with only 37 “x.”
Vijayveer’s scores after the two rounds of the competition were 582-18x. The final, which begins at 11:30 AM IST, will feature him as the lone representative of India. Adarsh could only place 14th with a 576-13x. Anish, on the other hand, made a mistake in the second stage and only registered 560-14x, finishing 21st. Korea came in second with a total of 1734 hits, while China took first place with a whopping new global record of 17.
