Asian Games 2023: Ramita Jindal secures bronze in 10m rifles event

 

Ramita Jindal of India won the bronze medal in the women’s solo 10m rifle event on Sunday at the 2022 Asian Games, which are currently taking place in Hangzhou.

In the final, the 19-year-old fired a total of 230.1 to fall short of Huang Yuting and Han Jiayu of China. Throughout the tournament, Jindal was in medal contention and even briefly held the lead. After the first ten shots, right before eliminations began, she even tied for second place with Lee Eunseo of South Korea and Yesugen Oyunbat of Mongolia.

The Haryana girl outperformed fellow countrywoman Mehuli Ghosh with a stellar 10.8 on her 20th attempt to maintain her chances of placing on the podium.
