Belgium & Netherlands to host 2026 men’s and women’s Hockey World Cups

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) executive board voted on Wednesday that Belgium and the Netherlands would share hosting duties for the 2026 men’s and women’s World Cups for Hockey respectively. Women’s and men’s teams will compete in both Amsterdam and Wavre during the combined event, which will take place in July or August. One local team, either Belgium or the Netherlands, will play each day in the planned structure for the match schedule in an effort to lure more fans. The board also confirmed that the winners of the FIH Hockey Pro League’s fifth (2023/2024) and sixth (2024/2025) editions will automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
