In order to win the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, France’s Caroline Garcia defeated Aryna Sabalenka 7-6(4) 6-4 and displayed exceptional serving technique. In a match when she served 11 aces and never had a break point, Garcia maintained her pressure by breaking to start the second set and surviving a difficult deuce game to secure the victory. The 29-year-old Garcia, who was outside the top 70 in mid-June, has since won four titles, advanced to the U.S. Open semifinals, and will now reach a career-high ranking of number four.
