At the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, Indian players Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu took home the gold medal in the mixed doubles squash competition. In the mixed doubles championship, Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu defeated Malaysia’s Aifa Azman-Mohd Syafiq Kamal 2-0 (11-10, 11-10). The Asian Games are featuring a squash mixed doubles competition for the first time. The Asian Games gold medalists in team events Aifa Azman and Mohd Syafiq Kamal jumped out to an early lead and didn’t allow the Indian duo relax. As Azman-Kamal jumped out to a 10-8 lead, Pallikal and Sandhu had trouble with their returns.
