Last Friday, the biggest tournaments of soccer—2022 FIFA World Cup— kicked off in Qatar. And, the tournament has already experienced a few surprises. Be it Saudi upsetting Messi and co or Japan’s turnaround against Germany, the tournament is surprising fans everyday. But, what are one of the best goals scored in the World Cup 2022 so far? Well, we have prepared a list of our favourites. And, here’s what who and how the best goals were made so far:
Salem Al-Dawsari (Argentina vs Saudi Arabia)
What came as a surprise was how Saudi Arabia stunned Argentina with a 2-1 victory. Though a Messi penalty helped Argentina gain the lead in the beginning, the second half was a surprise! The underdogs, Saudi, turned it around! With a 48th-minute goal from Saleh Alshehri, Saudi grabbed an equaliser shortly after the second half. But what caught the eyes was Al-Dawsari’s long ranger. The Al-Hilal forward stunned the Argentina defence with a shot just inside the box. He sent it to the top-right corner.
Richarlison (Brazil vs Serbia)
Brazil started its campaign with a 2-0 victory against Serbia. The five-time World Cup champions (Brazil) claimed the lead as Richarlisons scored a goal out of a loose ball from close range. The striker again went on to score a brace. He scored the second one with a spectacular acrobatic kick to a pass from Vinicius Jr.
Bukayo Saka (England vs Iran)
England started its journey after thrashing Iran by 6 goals to 2. Jude Belligham scored the opener in the match. Thereafter, Saka helped England extend their lead. Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire provided assits to Saka to score outstandingly. At one instance, Saka volleyed the ball expertly into the top corner. He scored a brace in the game.
Gavi (Spain vs Costa Rica)
Gavi scored Spain’s fifth goal. He scored it with a first-time finish from Alvaro Morata’s cross that crashed in off the inside of the post. He became the third youngest scorer in the tournament’s history at 18 years and 110 days.
Cody Gakpo (Netherlands vs Senegal)
The 23-year-old Cody Gakpo gave the Dutch a much-needed goal against in the 84th minute. It was Netherlands’ first shot on target. Gakpo jumped in for a header to a brilliant long ball from midfielder Frenkie de Jong. He narrowly beat the Senegalese keeper Edouard Mendy.
