While other NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers raced and crashed in the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway, Austin Hill was playing a different game: Monopoly.
Hill won his third straight Xfinity season opening at the World Centre of Racing, a 2.5-mile superspeedway about two miles from Atlantic Avenue, by 0.591 seconds over former teammate Sheldon Creed. The third victory occurred on Monday night due to weekend-long rain, which caused NASCAR to reschedule the race from Saturday afternoon. The event was the second leg of a doubleheader with the Daytona 500, which was postponed from Sunday and eventually won by William Byron.
Hill has held Victory Lane at Daytona for long enough to build a house there.
