Hockey India has announced the 24-member Indian Men’s Hockey Team for the FIH Pro League 2023-24 legs in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
The Bhubaneswar leg will begin on February 10 and end on February 16, while the Rourkela leg will begin on February 19 and end on February 25.
India will face Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, and Australia twice each in both legs, beginning with Spain on February 10th. The seasoned combo of Captain Harmanpreet Singh (renowned for his drag-flicking) and Vice Captain Hardik Singh (an outstanding midfielder) will lead the team.
Sreejesh Parattu Raveendran and Krishan Bahadur Pathak will be in charge of goalkeeping, while Harmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar, Sumit, Sanjay, Jugraj Singh, and Vishnukant Singh will play defence. Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Shamsher Singh, Rajkumar Pal, Nilakanta Sharma, and Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem will all play in the midfield.
The forward line is led by Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Abhishek, Akashdeep Singh, and Araijeet Singh Hundal, who made his debut for the Indian squad during the South Africa tour.
