On February 17, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will square off for the undisputed heavyweight title in Saudi Arabia, according to the announcement made by the organisers. WBC champion Fury, a British boxer, will defend his title against Usyk, a Ukrainian, for the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts in Riyadh. The victor will become the first unchallenged heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999–2000.
The original plan was for Fury, 35, and Usyk, 36, to square off on December 23. However, the much awaited fight was postponed due to Fury’s lacklustre performance in a split-decision victory over MMA star Francis Ngannou last month.
