India beats Thailand to win maiden Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier

India won the first Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier on Monday by defeating Thailand 7-2 in the championship game and securing its spot in the World Cup for the following year.

Mariana Kujur and Jyoti both scored twice for India, which also received goals from Monika Dipi Toppo, captain Navjot Kaur, and Mahima Choudhary.

Kunjira Inpa and Sanpoung Kornkanok were on point for Thailand. India has thus earned a spot in the inaugural Hockey 5s World Cup, which will take place in Muscat from January 24 to 27 of the following year.
