India now has the lead in the four-match series.
The Australian side was bowled out for 91 in 32.3 overs. It was their lowest total ever in India. Steve Smith was the top-scorer with 25 not out. He had faced 51 deliveries. Ashwin also trapped Matt Renshaw (2) as Australia collapsed to 42 for four.
