India puts up its best-ever performance in the World Para Shooting Championship, taking home an impressive haul of five medals from Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates, including three gold ones.With South Korea leading the standings with 20 medals, the shooters also achieved their best-ever fifth-place finish. This came after winning three bronze medals at the 2019 World Championships in Sydney.With four medals, including two gold ones, the hosts UAE came in at seventh place. All three of India’s gold medals came from team competitions. Rahul Jakhar won the nation’s lone individual medal, a bronze in the P3 Mixed 25m Pistol SH1 finals. Avani Lekhara, who was using a new wheelchair and weapon, struggled in the finals of the R2 Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 and the R8 Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1, ending in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
