The Indian women’s softball team will take part in the competition for the first time at the Asian Games later this year after receiving a wild card for the event in Hangzhou, according to the Softball Association of India.
The Indian team’s wildcard admission was approved by Softball Asia’s executive committee on February 23.
An important development for softball in India is the women’s team’s wild card entry into the Asian Games.
“Performing at the Asian Games is our first step and comes with a huge responsibility as we aspire to be a strong team ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics,” said Neetal Narang, president of the Softball Association of India.
