Mandeep Jangra, a professional boxer from India, defeated Conor McIntosh of Britain in the Cayman Islands to win the super featherweight world title from the World Boxing Federation. The 31-year-old, who has only lost once in his professional career and trains under former Olympic silver medalist Roy Jones Jr., held the advantage in the majority of rounds.
Throughout the ten rounds, he maintained his stamina and landed hard blows right away, making it difficult for the British fighter to keep up. Jangra continued to hold the advantage in the majority of rounds, despite Conor’s attempts to rally. The 2021-debuting Haryana boxer hopes the championship will encourage more Indian fighters to pursue professional careers.
