Danielle Williams of Jamaica won the women’s 100-meter hurdles world championship on Thursday in Budapest.
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, the reigning Olympic champion, finished second in 12.44 seconds, and Kendra Harrison of the United States took third in 12.46 seconds.
The 30-year-old, who previously won in Beijing in 2015, timed 12.43 seconds. At the last obstacle, Williams, who was running in lane two for outsiders, triumphed alongside Camacho-Quinn and Harrison.
The Jamaican, though, managed to get ahead of her two more favoured competitors by a little fraction of a second.
