Jorge Martin described his experience as a “perfect weekend” after winning the French MotoGP in Le Mans, extending his lead in the championship. The Spaniard, who had already won the sprint, battled closely with Francesco Bagnaia throughout the race. Marc Marquez, starting from 13th on the grid, managed to finish in second place.
With this win, Pramac Ducati rider Martin now has 129 points, 38 points ahead of Bagnaia, who moved up to second in the standings. Marquez is in third place, two points behind Bagnaia. Martin, who previously won in Portugal this season, lost his pole position lead to Bagnaia on the first lap. The two riders remained close for most of the race, with Bagnaia finally passing Martin seven laps from the end.
