In a dramatic finish, India’s Jyothi Yarraji took home the silver medal in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the Asian Games Athletics competition after the race officials attempted to have her and Chinese competitor Wu Yanni disqualified for making a false start.
Despite the fact that Jyothi was slower than the Chinese runner, the Chinese officials attempted to disqualify her as well. However, after Jyothi protested with the officials, they permitted both of them to race. However, the Indian authorities objected shortly after the race was over. Yanni Wu, a Chinese runner, was ultimately disqualified by the officials, who also upgraded Jyothi’s bronze to silver.
