Karman Kaur Thandi won the W60 ITF competition in Saguenay, Canada, on Sunday, earning the biggest victory of her tennis career. With this victory, she has moved up in the most recent WTA tennis rankings to the 217th ranking. Since Sania Mirza’s victory in the $75,000 event in Dubai in 2010, the championship won by an Indian woman on the professional circuit in Canada was also the largest. Karman Kaur Thandi won the W60 ITF title, her second of the year and third singles triumph of her career. After winning the W25 tennis competition in Gurugram back in June of this year, Thandi earned her first singles victory in Hong Kong in 2018. She rose to the top of the Indian women’s singles rankings as a result of the victory.
