Kazakhstan’s inaugural race cancelled by MotoGP

Due to the circuit’s unpreparedness, MotoGP has postponed its inaugural race in Kazakhstan and will not make up the race on the 20-round schedule. A five-year agreement was reached by Kazakhstan and the Sokol International Racecourse west of Almaty to host MotoGP competitions last September. The first race was supposed to take place on July 9 as the ninth round. The Buddh International track, which is close to New Delhi, will host the inaugural MotoGP event in India in September. MotoGP is eager to increase its footprint in Asia.

The Dutch TT on June 25 and the British Grand Prix on August 6 now have a six-week hiatus in the schedule because of the cancellation of Kazakhstan
