On the most recent BWF World Rankings for men’s singles, Lakshya Sen climbed to a career-high position of number six. The gold medalist from the Commonwealth Games has moved up two spots to take the job. In addition to placing second at the German Open and All England Open, Lakshya won the India Open Super 500 championship in January. He was also a key contributor to India’s victory in the Thomas Cup team tournament in Bangkok during the Commonwealth Games, however, he had since withdrawn for medical reasons from the forthcoming 2022 Australia Open. He will not participate in the World Tour Finals.
