Noah Lyles, the reigning world 100- and 200-meter champion, served warning to the Paris Olympic sprinters, while Marco Arop ran the second-fastest indoor 1,000 ever at the Boston Grand Prix. The indoor athletics tournament acts as a prelude to the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow next month, as well as the Summer Games in France.
Lyles, who was also a member of last year’s world champion US 4×100 relay, was eager to win gold after winning the 60 metres in a personal best and 2024 world-leading 6.44 seconds. Lyles, who finished 0.10 seconds behind countryman Christian Coleman’s world indoor record, warned that his starts are considerably better.
