More history for Tiger Woods, makes Masters cut for record 24th time in a row

Just as Tiger Woods was lining up another difficult putt at Augusta National, a howling gust—the same kind that caused havoc all day long—hit the 18th green. Sand fines whipped across the slippery green surface, emerging from the pearl-white bunkers. The hat of one caddy was blown off. Quickly averting the potentially stinging daggers to his eyes, Woods turned away.

All it was was a gusty diversion on the route to yet another chapter in Masters history. Woods reached the cut for a record-tying 24th consecutive time when he holed a 5-foot putt to cap an even-par 72 when the explosion had calmed enough to allow for another look.

Naturally, he had his sights set on an even more ambitious objective: tying the record with six green jackets. Woods surpassed the cut milestone he shared with two previous champions, 1992 winner Fred Couples (whose streak continued until 2007) and three-time winner Gary Player (who reached the weekend 23 times in a row starting in 1959).
