During the ongoing 37th National Games, West Bengal’s Mehuli Ghosh swept the women’s 10m air rifle event at the Mandrem Shooting Ranges. Ghosh finished first in qualification with a total of 633.1 points.
Ghosh won gold in the final with a score of 253.7, while Nancy of Haryana took silver with a score of 251.0. With a score of 229.4 points, Swati Chowdhary of West Bengal beat out Shriyanka Sadangi of Odisha to earn bronze.
Ghosh, one of the 13 shooters who gained a quota spot for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, stated that she hopes to improve her finals performance in the future.
On November 18, Ghosh will compete in the Doha World Cup Finals. She will compete in the National Shooting Championships in the third week of November in Delhi’s Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, immediately following the tournament in Doha. She will compete in the national selection trials in December.
