Nuggets outlast Nets for second straight win

Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon each scored 24 points, Nikola Jokic finished with 29 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists, and the Denver Nuggets overcame the Brooklyn Nets 144-139 in overtime on Tuesday in New York. Ussell Westbrook scored 22 points off the bench, Christian Braun added 12, and Michael Porter Jr. scored 16 as Denver triumphed in overtime for the second straight game.

Seven players from Brooklyn scored in double digits, with Dennis Schroder leading the way with 28 points and 14 assists. Cam Thomas scored 26 points. Brooklyn scored first in overtime before the Nuggets reeled off eight straight points to go ahead 133-127. Schroder hit a 3-pointer to cut the Nets’ deficit to 135-132, but Braun answered from deep and Murray split a pair of free throws to stretch Denver’s lead to seven.
