The DP World Tour, which is based in Europe, made its way back to Japan when Yuto Katsuragawa of Japan won the ISPS Handa Championship with a final-round score of 63. At the Taiheiyo Club in Gotemba, overshadowed by Mount Fuji in central Japan, the 25-year-old tied the course record with seven birdies and no bogeys, finishing three strokes ahead of Sebastian Soderberg of Sweden on 17-under par.
Ivan Cantero of Spain, Marcel Schneider of Germany, Christiaan Bezuidenhout of South Africa, and Ryosuke Kinoshita of Japan tied for third place after finishing two shots behind.
With five bogeys on the front nine, overnight leader Casey Jarvis had a disastrous final round, finishing eight strokes behind the lead with a 74.
Yannik Paul of Germany, who began the day one shot behind Casey, withdrew from the race as well and finished 11 strokes behind Katsuragawa.
In 2022, Katsuragawa emerged victorious in the inaugural ISPS Handa Championship; however, because to pandemic restrictions, the competition was exclusively authorised by the Japanese tour.
Last year’s winner was Lucas Herbert of Australia.
