Esha Singh was in excellent condition as she won the first Olympic selection trials on Friday at the Dr. Karni Singh Range in Tughlakabad, winning the women’s 25-meter sports pistol with a score of 585. Esha, 19, who competed in the most recent Asian Games in Hangzhou and took home four medals, shot 291 in the precision stage and 294 in the rapid-fire section.
With 583 points, Simranpreet Kaur Brar finished second behind Manu Bhaker, Abhidnya Patil, and Rhythm Sangwan, having shot 295 in the rapid-fire section. Along with the men’s rapid-fire pistol final, the event final will take place on Saturday.
In the rapid-fire pistol, Bhavesh Shekhawat took the lead with 580 points, ahead of Olympic quota winners Anish Bhanwala (578) and Vijayveer Sidhu (579).
