Navdeep Singh clinched the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw F41 event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. The 23-year-old, who had placed fourth at the Tokyo Paralympics, achieved a new personal best with a throw of 47.32m on his third attempt in Paris. Initially, he finished in second place, but his silver medal was later upgraded to gold when Iran’s Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified due to a second yellow card. Beit Sayah had set a new Paralympic record with a throw of 47.64m in the penultimate round. China’s Sun Pengxiang won the silver with a throw of 44.72m, while Iraq’s Wildan Nukhaikawi came in fourth. The F41 category is for athletes with short stature.
