Peter Sagan to focus on the 2024 Olympic mountain bike

Peter Sagan, a three-time world champion, will compete in his final World Tour season of road races before moving on to the mountain bike competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. At a race in Argentina on Thursday night, the Slovakian rider made his plans known. It was his 33rd birthday. In July, he plans to compete in his final Tour de France, where he has won a record-tying seven green jerseys. Prior to his illustrious career on the roads, Sagan began his riding career on mountain bikes. In addition to one-day classics like Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders, he won 12 stages of the Tour de France. His three global championships were won in a row, from 2015 to 2017.  Sagan raced in the road race at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the mountain bike event four years later in Rio de Janeiro, both without taking home a medal.
