According to the Asia Cup schedule, which was revealed on Wednesday, the much-awaited India vs. Pakistan game is scheduled for September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
The fierce rivals, who were placed in Group A with Nepal, might face each other three times over the course of 15 days if they make it to the Super 4 and final.
The competition begins on August 30 and runs through September 17. The six-team ODI competition’s first game will be played in Multan between hosts Pakistan and Nepal as a warm-up for the ICC World Cup.
After playing their arch-rivals in the tournament opener, the Rohit Sharma-led team from India will get a day break before facing Nepal on September 4 in Kandy. According to the announcement made by Jay Shah, Head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), both Pakistan and India would continue to hold positions A1 and A2.
No matter where they stand after the first round, this is still true. Should one of them be ineligible, Nepal will fill the position.
Pakistan and India will meet again on September 10 in Colombo if both teams advance. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal will all take part in the event, which consists of 13 One Day International matches.
