TATAIPL 2024: DCvSRH: Travis Head storm hits in Delhi as Hyderabad register a dominating win

With a remarkable spell of play and a four-for, T Natarajan helped Sunrisers Hyderabad defeat Delhi Capitals by a commanding 67 runs. SRH climbed to the second position on the points table with the victory. With a half-century off 16 balls, Travis Head lit the stage on fire as Sunrisers Hyderabad amassed 266/7 in 20 overs. Head (89) and Abhishek Sharma (46), together with SRH, broke the record for the greatest powerplay score in T20 cricket history, which stood at 125. 300 seemed possible at one point, but Kuldeep Yadav took three fast wickets to keep them from getting there. Shahbaz Ahmed’s 59* run effort at the end of the innings added a lovely closing touch as well.

The Delhi Capitals are returning to the nation’s capital for their first “home” game of the 2024 Indian Premier League after playing two games in the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, where they have adopted a new home. They defeated the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs in their first game in Vizag, but they lost their second game against Kolkata Knight Riders by 106 runs.
