Tentoglou retains the long jump title at World Athletics Indoor C’ships

Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglou regained his global indoor long jump title in Glasgow, while American Grant Holloway advanced to the 60m hurdles semifinals. Tentoglou, the reigning Olympic, world, and European champion, jumped a best of 8.22 metres on his first attempt.

Italy’s Mattia Furlani, 19, won silver with the same record, while Jamaica’s Carey McLeod took bronze with 8.21m.

Holloway, a three-time 110m hurdles world champion and Olympic silver winner, had little drama in the hurdles’ initial round. The 26-year-old, who recently broke his own world record in the 60m hurdles, has gone unbeaten in indoor events since March 2014, an incredible streak spanning 73 races.
