The Philadelphia 76ers acquire big men Azuolas Tubelis & Filip Petrusev

Filip Petrusev, a power forward signed a deal on Monday with the Philadelphia 76ers.  Additionally, they signed rookie Azuolas Tubelis, who went undrafted, to a two-way contract.

The 76ers didn’t release specifics of either contract in accordance with franchise policy. The 6-foot-11 Petrusev, who competed for Gonzaga from 2018 to 2021, was selected 50th overall in the 2021 NBA Draught after representing his native Serbia with KK Mega Basket in the Adriatic Basketball Association.

He was named league MVP that year, and the next year, he played in 72 games for the Serbian team Crvena Zvezda, averaging 11.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 57.3 percent from the field.

In two games of the Las Vegas Summer League, the 23-year-old joined the 76ers club and shot 61.1 percent while averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.

Arizona’s Tubelis, 21, earned a second-team All-American in 2022–2023. In 35 games (34 starts), he averaged 19.8 points and 9.1 rebounds, both team highs for the Wildcats.
