In order to easily go to the men’s doubles semifinals of the ATP Marrakech Open in Marrakech, Morocco, third seeds Nicholas Barrientos and Rafael Matos were defeated by India’s Yuki Bhambri and his French partner Albano Olivetti.

The unseeded Indo-French team defeated Brazilian Rafael Matos and Colombian Nicholas Barrientos, narrowly winning 7-6(5) 6-7 10-7 in a match that lasted nearly two hours.

In the ATP 250 event, they will play Austria’s Alexander Erler and second-seeded Lucas Miedler in the round of 16. In the quarterfinal, both partners shared 50% of the total points won, making it an equal match. Against their opponents, Bhambri and Olivetti hit ten aces to just three.

Bhambri, who has played with Dutchman Robin Haase in the majority of the competitions, has joined up with Olivetti for the first time this season.

At the Miami Masters, the Indian player was teamed with New Zealander Michael Venus, with whom he lost in the first round.
