Asian Shooting Championships 2023: Aishwary Tomar shines with 50m rifle 3P gold

At the 15th Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, Korea, on Wednesday, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar defeated Tian Jiaming of China by 0.8 points to win the gold in the rifle 3-position event.

Since Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran had already won the maximum number of Olympic quotas for India in the event at the World Championships, there was no question about the country’s Olympic quota in the competition. China, with a world record of 1777 points, 13 more than India, outscored the Indian team to the silver medal.

India took home the two gold medals in mixed trap. Korea was defeated 141-136 by Manisha Keer and Prithviraj Tondaiman to win the gold. Aadya Tripathi and Shardul Vihan won the junior mixed trap gold with a combined score of 131.
