Jean Hugo added another chapter to his illustrious career in the Vodacom Origins of Golf by securing a record 12th victory in the series, narrowly defeating Jonathan Broomhead by one stroke at the Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate. The 48-year-old Hugo birdied the par-five 18th hole, thanks to a brilliant chip shot, finishing with a two-under-par 70 that brought his total to 13-under-par for the tournament. Broomhead, who delivered a remarkable final round of 65 featuring nine birdies but marred by a double-bogey on the par-four sixth hole, ended at 12-under-par. Hugo’s win marked his 12th triumph in the Vodacom Origins of Golf Series and his 20th Sunshine Tour title overall. His victory was sealed with a superb third shot on the 18th, a chip to within a foot of the hole from the right side of the green.
