Akshay Bohra wins India’s first-ever F4 championship at Indian Racing Festival

As part of the second season of the Indian Racing Festival, which began here, the Madras International Circuit hosted the first-ever Indian F4 championship.

The Indian F4 and the Indian Racing League, a six-team city-based franchise league, are the two championships in the series run by Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL). Roshon Rajeev and Shahan Ali Mohsin were behind British driver Akshay Bohra, who won the maiden Formula Four race from pole position. Bohra drove a calm race and kept his lead from lights out.

Additionally, there was a brief safety car period, and the young driver won it handily by nailing the restart. Abundant rain fell on the circuit on the final lap, ending behind the safety car. The IRL race, which was scheduled to take place in the afternoon after the F4 race, was postponed due to rain.

The Hyderabad street circuit was originally scheduled to host the first round of the series. But at the last minute, the race was shifted to Chennai because of the model code of conduct and the approaching Telangana elections.
